What is the Alexander Technique?

The Alexander Technique trains awareness of unconscious patterns of inefficient movement and gives students the choice to release tension and improve both skilled performance and everyday functioning as a human being. The technique is popular with actors, dancers, musicians, and athletes in New York City, Los Angeles, and London and taught at prestigious institutions such as Juilliard and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

While the Alexander Technique is best known for honing the skills of elite performers, it is equally useful in achieving ease and poise in everyday activities. Many students of the Alexander Technique practice it as a holistic prevention of back pain, repetitive stress injuries, and the general fatigue so common in modern life.
